Sign Ordinance (Click Here to Download Draft Text) The Sign Committee is currently in the process of reviewing the Town’s current sign ordinance. The committee will present their recommendations to the Planning Commission by this July. The committee is comprised of the Mayor, two representatives from the Planning Commission, two representatives from the Town Council, one representative from the Lovettsville Business Association, one representative from Elm Street Development (Town Center), and Town Staff. If you have any issues or recommendations for the committee to review, please provide them in writing to the Town Manager. (posted 04/07/08) Proposed Changes to Light Industrial District: The Lovettsville Planning Commission is currently exploring the possibility of modifying the Town’s existing Light Industrial zoning district. These changes would add several new uses and remove others. It would also change the requirement related to buffers/screening, public hours of operation, along with lot setback and size requirements. The goal is to develop a zoning district that provides additional protection to surrounding residential uses, while also promoting economic objectives that are outlined in the Town Plan. The Town Council and Planning Commission will hold a joint public hearing on this issue on January 9th at the Lovettsville Town Hall at 7:30 p.m. Click here to see a full copy of the proposed zoning amendment text. Wellhead Protect Program funded through a generous grant from the DEQ
Lovettsville was just awarded a grant totaling $53,000 from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality to fund a second year of wellhead protection projects aimed at protecting the Town’s water supply. Lovettsville was one of only three localities throughout the Commonwealth that received this funding!
Voluntary Water Conservation: The Town asks that all residents conserve water until further notice. Please avoid washing cars, irrigating lawns, and other water intensive activities.
